Primary Care

Primary care is only offered for patients who are deemed good fit to work with Dr. Pourhassani, DACM, LAc. and only for residents of California.

Why is it in your best interest to alternative primary care?  If you want to avoid the outcomes of standard care, age healthier, and recover from illness and injury unlike standard primary care, or other practices MD’s engage with under the umbrella of integrative medicine.

Warning: Please be aware; MD’s are not trained or educated in medical school, or residency about acupuncture, or our scope of practice.  However, LAc’s. in California are trained how to integrate with the medical system, you will be referred out if medically necessary.

Some differences between other primary care practices:  Only tests which are medically necessary are ordered.

Do you offer Telehealth? Yes, all primary care services are provide virtually through a HIPPA compliant platform.

It’s a free market and superior healthcare services are available: Don’t risk your health, and wellbeing receiving healthcare services which are not up to date.

How do I pay for services?  You may use your HSA or FSA. Or, pay with credit cards.  Fees are collected when an appointment is scheduled.

24/7 Services are offered for patients who want to have access to Dr. Pourhassani, DACM, L.Ac. in case of an accident or emergency.   For certain conditions there is no time to snooze; standard care may increase your risk of morbidity & mortality (getting sicker, or dying).

Primary care providers (PCPs) are the first point of contact in the healthcare system and provide comprehensive care for a wide range of healthcare needs. Their responsibilities include:

  1. Health Maintenance: Conduct routine check-ups, preventive care, screenings to help prevent illness and maintain overall health.
  2. Diagnosis and Treatment: PCPs diagnose and manage a variety of common  and chronic conditions. They also provide initial evaluations and treatment for more complex health issues.
  3. Patient Education: Offer guidance on lifestyle changes, health risks, and how to manage chronic conditions, helping patients make informed decisions about their health.  Dr. Pourhassani, DACM, LAc provides services to help patients navigate the healthcare system, to reduce unnecessary patients out of pocket costs.
  4. Care Coordination: PCPs refer patients to specialists when needed and help coordinate care among different providers, ensuring that treatments are integrated.  Dr. Pourhassani, DACM, Lac doesn’t just refer to MD’s who refer patients to her, she refers patients to the best physicians and surgeons available on the market and intervenes if it’s in the patients’ best interest (example: if incorrect medications are prescribed.  If treatments which are not medically necessary are recommended and/or financial conflict of interest may be suspected).
  5. Management of Chronic Conditions: For patients with long-term conditions, primary care providers monitor and adjust treatment plans to keep symptoms under control utilizing the most up-to-date evidence. The focus is to non-pharmaceutical interventions to reduce the risk of developing iatrogenic illness (google this).
  6. Acute Care: Available 24/7; May refer out, diagnose or treat acute conditions and help manage sudden health concerns.
  7. Mental Health Support: PCPs can identify and manage mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression, often collaborating with mental health professionals if necessary.

By focusing on preventive care, early detection, and ongoing management, primary care providers play a key role in maintaining overall health and well-being.

"Primary Care with Dr. Pourhassani, DACM, LAc is not available to everyone, as this is not similar to a MD's practice of primary care. It is more involved, expensive and requires discipline of the patient."
