Functional Medicine with Dr. Pourhassani, DACM, LAc, etc.
Our symptoms don’t develop overnight. Often, we ignore various triggers over time that gradually lead to disease. These triggers can include chronic stress, infections, poor diet and nutrition, prescription medications, hormone imbalances, emotional trauma, inflammatory processes, and environmental toxins, all of which can impact gut health. Poor gut health can then cause changes throughout the entire body, such as inflammation, toxicity, hormone imbalances, immune response issues, brain inflammation, mood changes, allergies, decreased metabolism, weight gain, or unintentional weight loss.
It takes time to identify and untangle these possible triggers. Instead of simply prescribing something to manage the symptoms during a brief visit, we want to partner with you to transform your health. We dedicate time to uncover these roadblocks to your health and guide you on the path to living well.
We offer regular visits with Dr. Pourhassani, DACM, LAc. along with Health and Nutrition coaching to support to empower you to regain your body’s normal function.
Just Testing: Lab Testing with brief consultation
Foundational Assessment: This assessment offers an invaluable deep dive consultation where you learn about your unique imbalances that are impacting your symptoms.
Comprehensive blood work is ordered prior to this appointment so that can leave with a personalized plan for next steps on your functional medicine journey. There are TWO separate appointments: a 90-minute appointment with Pourhassani and a 45-minute follow-up for health coaching. Advanced diagnostic testing may be recommended to develop a lifestyle and supplement prescription plan, which may be altered on subsequent visits (5 visits per year are common).
If you had this assessment in 2019 and we resolved your GI symptoms/conditions. And, now in 2029 you have a new health condition, or a relapse you will benefit from this assessment.
** Advanced Diagnostic Testing takes a deep dive into your health by using tests not typically used in conventional medicine to get to the root cause. These include advanced stool analysis, adrenal profiles, breath tests, organic acid analysis, sex hormone analysis, and more.
The cost of these lab tests is not included in professional services.
5 Fx Medicine visits per year are common.
Functional Medicine visits are not included with acupuncture services. Acupuncture alters function and a visit to explain how acupuncture may help you may be recommended.
Spots are limited to ensure we maintain personal, high-quality care for each of our patients.
You will be referred to speciality MD’s, the urgent care, or emergency department if your symptoms, or tests require medical necessary consultations.
Dr. Pourhassani, DACM, LAc. started obtaining education in functional medicine in 2019 via the Institute of Functional Medicine because many of her patients were obtaining functional medicine services from MD’s.
The patients were consuming expensive pharmaceuticals (LDN), or exogenous hormones (testosterone) and excessive supplements, but they were not feeling better. She wondered, “why are the patients feeling worst? What the hell is functional medicine?” She undertook studying functional medicine to investigate what these doctors were being taught and if their practice mirrored the education. In order to keep her patients safe and have the ability to advocate for her patient’s, she had to learn the language of functional medicine.
If you’ve been under the care of a functional medicine MD for over a year and you’re still taking supplements and still having flareups- it’s time you consult with Dr. Pourhassani, DACM, LAc.
