"Ms. Pourhassani has an incredible ability to relate to children, and parents. She’s calming and patient and constantly reassuring. She also allowed my daughter to have an input in her treatment. During her treatment my daughter’s congestion improved and she actually fell asleep."

My interest in pediatrics, acupuncture, and Chinese medicine comes from my own experience of having multiple health concerns as a child that conventional medicine was not able to help with.

The focus of treatment are outcomes, but the comfort of the toddler, or child has to be first established.   No needles are placed until the child is comfortable and agrees to the needle.  The first visit is to establish trust with the child.  Once the child feels comfortable, every subsequent visit is easy.

Children ask to come in for acupuncture when they don’t feel well.  If your child is in and out of the emergency room, in pain, or has had an injury finding a pediatric acupuncture in your area will bring more comfort to them not only in the short term, but longterm.  The memory of not feeling well stays with us long after actual experience.
