Hypnotherapy

Posted on August 14, 2019

Shabnam Pourhassani is a certified hypnotherapist (C.Ht.).  She studied hypnotherapy in Northern California, at the Hypnotherapy Training Institute in 2012.  She uses hypnotherapy herself, often, but only offers session for limited concerns.

What is hypnosis? Hypnosis allows patients to focus intently on a specific problem and its resolution, while maintaining a comfortable state of physical relaxation. It also helps patients to enhance control over their body responses.

Hypnosis is a normal state of aroused, attentive, and highly-focused concentration—comparable to being so absorbed in a movie or novel that one loses awareness of his or her surroundings.

  • Procedural anxiety management

  • Surgical Preparation to reduce pain, and medical treatment side effects such as nausea and vomiting.

  • Performance enhancement: sports, public speaking, and performance artists. To eliminate anxiety, enhance confidence and enjoyment in performance.

  • Artists: writers, visual artists, and creators.  Hypnosis is used to enhance creative visualization and solutions for current projects.

  • Medical providers; reduce anxiety associated with patient care.

  • Medical Board Oral Exam; if you have failed the oral exam, or have a lot of anxiety going into it your first time.

  • Healing from Heartbreak.

  • Healing from Abortion (sessions are available for men and women)

  • Healing from Medical Trauma.

Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation that is believed to alter brain wave patterns. During hypnosis you may be given suggestions that could help to change your perception of pain and strengthen your coping abilities.

Nine out of ten people can be hypnotized. However, hypnotism will not work if you do not want to be hypnotized or do not want to feel out of control. Hypnotism requires trust and imagination.

For anesthesia side effects, and surgical preparation, hypnosis can be added to your acupuncture treatment.

The trance state is one of my favorite experiences in life, it allows for solutions the conscious mind cannot fathom.  You can download hypnosis on APPS now, YouTube has many free options.  I encourage you to educate yourself, and explore the many ways you can shape your mind.  Cheers!
